Who will win the Finite war?

Welcome to the "Finite War". Supcom-Live presents a clash of nations with epic dimension.

The strongest countries, regions and a pact of the remaining world will fight for hegemony in a remote part of the milky way, where the Infinite War isnt enough for the people to forget about old traditions.

The United States of America, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Germany and "The Alliance of the 180" (representing the remaining World) will fight until one winner is determinated. Many players of each nation will have the chance to participate (take a look at the rules and you will understand why).

The Event will start at july 15th with the 180ers attacking Mowgli VII (currently under Scandinavian control) at 8 PM BST and with the United Kingdom attacking Minerva (currently under German control) at 9 PM BST.

We hope to see you all on the upcoming Sundays to support your countries, maybe you are amongst the drafted players. Good Luck and Have Fun to everyone.

Of course this event will be extensively coveraged by Supcom-Live. Stay tuned for more details.

Rules

participating teams are : USA, UK, France, Benelux, Germany, Scandinavia and "the Alliance of the 180" (which represents the remaining world)
each team starts with one planet and 400 Trillion energy.
maps to be played depend on the planet the war takes place (see mappool for more information)
each war consists of 2 1vs1 and 1 2vs2, the attacker has to win 2-1 or 3-0 to take control over the Planet, draws are counted as 0.5 for both teams.
an attack costs 30 trillion energy, taking control of an enemy planet gives 50 trillion energy.
there will be 2 attacking teams each sunday. The first war starts a 8 PM BST the second at 9 PM BST. So a complete round takes 4 weeks. (3 weeks if one team is eliminated, 2 if 3 teams are eliminated, 1 week if there are only 2 Teams left)
if a team loses their last planet and they already made their attack in this round they are out of the game.
Captains have to decide which planet they want to a attack at least one week in advance (til 8 PM BST) . If they don't inform the admins a random target will be choosen for them.
before each war starts the captains have to draft players from there own country who are in the "The Finite War" channel we will create for this event in gpgnet. In the first round each nation needs to draft at least 4 players. drafting a player costs 10 trillion energy. In later rounds Captains have to draft at least as much players as they need to have 4 online players in total.
Captain of attacking team assigns his players to the different maps, then the defending player assign his players
Players who lose their ACU aren't allowed to participate in further wars.
Players are not allowed to play different factions ( the faction they played in first game is the faction must play every game)
The team controlling all planets or controlling the most planets if nobody has resources left to attack will be the winner.

In the article above it says that if you lose your ACU ingame you cannot play again. Does this mean that whoever loses in the 1v1 basically cannot play in anymore of the games?

And if this is the case, does that mean you can surrender the game if you know it is a forgone conclusion so that you are able to play in other games?

#8 RoA-Radio posted @ 6/07/2007, 6:43: being able to surrender was an potential rule we wanted to introduce. we didn't want to make it too complex, so we dropped it. however many persons have already asked me in gpgnet and irc that if it possible to surrender or said that is should be possible. That means that we will most likely add this rule again. (If you surrender you become a captive of the other team, and then the team captains have to negotiate about the price for his release)

Indeed and month ago i told you that it's a great idea but we did not have the resources. Therefore asked you if you could leadthe project as it was your idea and that's when the discussion stopped if I remember correctly :/

I am glad that TheBigOne took the initiative and is leading it.

It's not idea or wish that we are missing here but resources i.e. active community contributors.
