WoW, no I am referring to World of War Craft but just amazed that this long awaited tool has finally been released.

I am saying long awaited because everybody has always wanted it and lucky us weaponsb has investigated it further and with help from thazar made it possible!

The Supcom Old Replays Player (SORP) does exactly what you would expect from it: it makes it possible to play/watch replays saved from older versions of Supreme Commander even if you have the latest patch installed!

The replays versions currently supported by the program are:
v1.1.3189*
v1.1.3217*
v1.1.3220*
v1.1.3223
v1.1.3251
v1.1.3254

*further tests needed

As I am picky I checked if the Beta one would be supported as well but it is not the case. Well I won't complain ;)

How To

Installing the software is straight forward

1. Install the application setup_version_chooser_1.1 (currently version 1.1)
   Please make sure that the files are in the root folder of your Supreme Commander installation.
   If not then it's not going to work. You know that the files are at the right place if the file version_chooser1.1.exe is at the same level as your Supreme Commander maps folder. As Supreme Commander is installed on my folder F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\ I have the below structure:
   F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\Maps
   F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\version_chooser1.1.exe
   
   
2. Uncompress the versions zip files in your Supreme Commander installation root folder. You should have this sort of structure:
   F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\mod_replay
   F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\bin_1.1.3189
   F:\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander\bin_1.1.3254
   ...

And of course you can download Supreme Commander Old Replays from our SupCom replays repository.
We have replays for all versions!
Just set the 'Game version' filter to the replay version you would like and press the Search button.

*** Update ***

I just ran a quick test and it seems that versions 3189, 3217 and 3220 are not working here. Supreme Commander does not start properly. We'll let weaponsb and thazar know about this issue.
